Some people like to jump on a bandwagon late (not you, Todd) and claim that the found it and that it's the greatest tool ever.

Been on Twitter for a few months now, and have turned it off and on a few time already.

But, it's got some people's blessings now, so it's okay.

Whatever. It's a cool tool, but it's just another tool out there. Yes, I happen to see the value in this one, and that there are cool things that are done and can be done with it.

Many other examples of "Not enough to blog, but enough to say about current conditions."

Unix Finger command, circa the internet stone age.

Sites like HeyLetsGo have had a subset of twitter capabilities for at least a year, albeit w/o widgets and syndication.

I am liking Twitter, but unless you are a real net.head, almost easier to use IM groups. How long until they bring out Enterprise Twitter. Why not just bake into IM clients, an established platform and one less Widget to slow down page loads.

We're moving so fast, it is nice to see what friends are up to, but twittering (is that a new verb?) every five minutes seems a bit much. And does everyone really want to know I just walked to Starbucks? I do see a potential application though in micro feeds; the ability to rapidly update an event and I'll bet you'll see more twitter traffic following the next disaster - that is, if everyone's GSM and text service stays intact. BTW, good seeing you last week in Vegas.

I had the same reaction -- didn't bother with it until every last person I know at New Comm asked about it. For me, I think it had something to do with the name. :-)
