Todd, it looks like we're all driving to the same destination, just going on parallel roads. I've been using SEO techniques on several channels in parallel.

I completely agree with your observation below:
"need to create a white paper and/or a podcast and/or a videoblog and/or a webcast of the same content because different types of prospects will have different engagement preferences."

As part of my research on different PR techniques, I analyzed Google launch of their browser. Here's the writeup:

<a href="http://is.gd/6mJk" rel="nofollow">http://is.gd/6mJk</a>

Google generated 450,000 independent blog posts within 60 days of the beta launch of their browser. They launched blogs, videos, new media press room, and traditional PR campaigns simultaneously. They also had a comic book.

I'm partnering with a SEO firm in Silicon Valley to offer integrated services that can address multiple stages of the lead nurturing process. It's fascinating.

I was pleased that you're seeing things the same way.

Smart post, Todd.

Like a lot of people my age involved in social media (I will be 44 in 2 weeks), my interest in communication began while I was in a marketing director role.

What I loved about your post is breaking items down into digestible chunks. I am convinced that, even in the offline environment, people don't read anymore, then scan.

And love the sports analogy. I live in suburban, D.C. and have coached my son's baseball team for 4 years running. We have doctors, several lawyers, government employees, homemakers - yet all we care about is baseball. Very cool.

Great post - am enjoying your blog immensely.

Mark

Hi Todd, You're correct in that more and more people are realizing the benefit of taking content and redistributing into multiple formats. In the end, you never know how and where your next customer is going to find you. Like IDG, our company is helping our customers with this as well. Glad to know that we think alike ;)
