God Bless the Moustachioed Tweeple of Movember
As I wrote about last month in the “Mo’ Marketing” post, we’re working with Canadian Club Whisky to promote awareness of men’s health issues, through their sponsorship of “Movember.”
We created a Facebook app that allows you to slap a “mo” on your friends’ FB profile pics, which has been fun. And just for kicks I’ve asked my Twitter pals to add a moustache to their own Twitter avatars … with hilarious results!

I am hoping to send some small prizes, at random, to the tweeps who are willing to disgrace their Twitter profiles through the month of November for a good cause.
It’s not too late, if you want to join the fun! Use the Movember Facebook app to create a moustachioed picture. Do a screengrab (in Windows, CTRL + PrtScrn). Paste to Microsoft Paint. Cut & save the newly-mo’d avatar pic. Re-save as a jpeg to your desktop and then add to your Twitter Profile in place of your old avatar.
Then, be sure to let me know, either in the Comments below or by sending a message to @tdefren on Twitter. Thanks for your support!

I am working with the peeps at Movember too. I with @FlipVideoCanada and thought that Movember is such a great cause to get involved with!
Cheers!

What do we already mo’d people do? Photoshop them out?
My husband @mark_atkinson completely went past the drawn in mustache and is taking part in Movember full force. In fact he even updates his picture every day or two to show the difference in ’stach growth.
Movember is a great cause!
I’m changing my Twitter pic @claytonblackham to my picture of me and my stach…er…mo. I feel bad because our office celebrated National Facial Hair Month in October.
You’re doing some really great work there. Congrats!
Thanks for all of the support of Movember Todd et al. I was inspired to participate by @kevinrose at Digg, but your continued support has been a big part of my ongoing motivation.
I’m over $1200 now and have entered the top 50 fundraisers in the US. I have done all of my fundraising via social media with every-other-day video updates on Facebook and YouTube.
The impact of video has been remarkable. You can see my latest video here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11nDkxYBwqc
Where is your Movember money going? Go here http://www.rayrodrick.com/movember.htm to see what the founders planned to do with your donated money!
Actually, Ray……
10% (10 cents of every dollar)is used to cover campaign costs. This level of administration and fundraising costs is best practice when compared with other charities, as evidenced by the Givewell reported fund raising ratio which was an average of 19%. Movember’s low cost ratio shows the efficiency with which the campaign is conducted, and the effectiveness of Movember’s small team.
They post all of their financials and anyone can receive their annual report: http://au.movember.com/outcomes/content/Financial-Summary/ and http://au.movember.com/outcomes/annualreports.php
