Yes, they have the wonderful power to do that. I am finding it strange how athletes sit in locker rooms and "tweet" thinking the owner or coach isn't going to find out. Unless you are the owner of the Dallas Mavericks and do it yourself.

I find Twitter unnecessary....I feel like it's basically Facebook for celebrities. They update their status and keep people posted. I know you do not have to follow them and what they are doing, but let's face it celebrities are going to take over Twitter and ruin it for the people who have it. If I talk to my friends everyday I don't feel the need to check on them on Twitter.

You make a great point about what it means to be on Twitter- that you don't have to follow or have conversations with someone if you don't want to.
On the other hand, I can see where everyone is coming from when they lament the increase in celebrities and brands on Twitter. People like to feel special, and before Twitter's boom, it was a special and exclusive place for the social media savvy. What I wonder is: Will there ever be a way to balance the benefits of an all-inclusive conversation with the perks of feeling like you're special/in the know?

100% agree, Todd. Bring more celebrities like Oprah on to Twitter. I don't have to follow her, but it makes my marketing job just a little bit easier!
