PR-Squared’s New Look & Widgety Magicks
Hi gang. Been too busy moving back to Boston and catching up on things to be very active on Ye Olde Social Networks, but meanwhile we had a chance to update the look & feel of PR-Squared. If you’re visiting via RSS, do me a favor and click through to the site?
We’ve got some more ideas that we’ll implement in the weeks ahead, but want to hear from you too. What features do your favorite blogs include? Is there anything we should avoid as we continue to try to make this a better blog?
In particular, check out the Social Media Highligher widget in the sidebar! We got sick of hearing, “How many folks at SHIFT are really engaged in Social Media?” so we created a widget that would allow us to show off the big percentage of SHIFTers on Twitter, the dozen-or-so employee blogs (on all sorts of topics), our LinkedIn and YouTube channels, etc. We’re literally trying to “highlight” our employees’ engagement across the socnets. What do you think of the widget??
I have plenty of blog posts on the backburner, simmering away. But meanwhile your patience with these summer doldrums is much appreciated.

Love the new look, Todd! It’s nice and clean, and it’s great to see all the engaged SHIFT folks getting recognition!
One quick observation, Todd: I can’t tell the publication date for posts. Intentional, perhaps?
(And a second, as I leave a comment: my name, e-mail address, and URL are also turning into bold and all caps? Weird, no?)
I do like the tinkering, though, and it reminded me that I hadn’t checked out the Facebook Page in a while!
Great widget that Social Media Highlighter. Question: Is it available for installing on other sites. Would like to add it to my WordPress blog.

Hi Todd,
I love the widget! Very creative. I could see where the moving feature would throw a few people off, but I don’t find it too distracting or difficult to scroll through. Looking forward to those simmering posts!

@TDefren Like the Widget. The bounciness is a bit distracting, though. Makes it hard(er) to navigate.

@TDefren Also, at least in Safari, scrolling down with cursor in middle of widget moves page sometimes, not widget.

@TDefren I did like the chicken… The widget is neat, like the way it slides out with more details for each item on the list.

You guys continue to lead the pack in your online evolution. The Facebook widget is cool and the Social Media Highlighter is spot on. We are also in the process of changing our site and blog into something much more social (launching early September); looks like we have a trend folks. In the imitation is the highest form of flattery category, would you mind if we steal an idea or two here?
