The Rejuvenation Project

Hi. Remember me?  I’m the rockin’ PR/Marketing/Social Media blogger you’ve been following for a while now.  But let’s be honest, shall we?  The blog has clearly not been my main focus in recent months.  Lots of guest posts lately … long swathes of time in-between posts … Wussup?!

IStock_000006351782XSmallFact is, I’ve been focused like I haven’t been in years on my business.  Through much of the Great Recession, I spend oodles of time on-the-road.  I was Mr. Newbiz.  I spent a LOT of time in airports and in hotels that smelled vaguely of cheese and cigarette smoke.  Good news is, I was #winning like Charlie Sheen a lot of the time (but with less of the fun); bad news is, I wasn’t spending enough time thinking about the future from a business standpoint.

We got through the dark times almost unscathed as a result of the focus on newbiz, but I’ve known for a while that I’d dropped the ball on important agenda items like “vision, mission, and values” and “strategies for gaining operational leverage” and “evolving the service portfolio” and “innovation for innovation’s sake.”

So that’s what I’ve been focused on since January 1st, and I am … so … freakin … psyched as a result.  I’m only just now finalizing the strawman stuff, for review and comment by my leadership team (and Lord knows, they’ll have opinions that challenge me to up my game even more), but I feel rejuvenated, empowered; challenged but re-enfranchised.

I can’t really talk about all the funtime scribbles coating four walls’ worth of whiteboards in my office, due to competitive concerns … and, honestly, I can’t promise that the pace of blog posts will accelerate to normal levels anytime in the near future … but, I did want ya’ll to know that I have greatly appreciated your enthusiasm for the posts that have gone up, and your patience during the dry spells.

Watch this space.  It’ll be worth it.

    PS:

You’ve got to love a PR firm that uses a line from The Standells’ late spring and summer 1966 Top 40 hit, “Dirty Water,” for its tag line on their home page.

“Down by the banks of the River Charles
    With lovers, muggers, and thieves…
    Awww, Boston, you’re my home…”

Excellent blog that shares with your readers your energized and forward-focused state of mind. Also a well-done tease. Can’t wait to hear more about where your exploration of the possibilities takes SHIFT.

  • Jennifer Jewett says:

Woohoo!! Can’t wait to hear more! :-)

  • Just wait? Indefinitely for good stuff?? Oh, fine. *sigh*

(Kidding. Can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to)
