I was delighted and fascinated (yet not shocked) to learn that new Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer’s very first hire from amongst her army of fans at Google was her longtime PR pro, Anne Espiritu.
It wasn’t a top sales exec. It wasn’t a big-name engineer. It was the person that Ms. Mayer most trusted to help her build and sell the “new Yahoo” storyline. Ms. Mayer clearly sees the need to change the narrative around the waning search giant. It’s Job #1, as they say.
